Basic electricsDuration: 1 day Who should attend: vehicle technicians and those with relevant background with little or no electrical knowledge who would like to gain an understanding of electrical theory, circuit operating principles and basic circuit testing techniques. Aims and objectives: to provide participants with the basic knowledge and understanding required for working on vehicle electrical systems. About the course: for many the subject of electricity is something of a mystery. Basic electrics is a classroom based introductory course covering the fundamentals of electricity, circuit operating principles and basic testing techniques. Course content includes the following main subjects:
During the course, participants will investigate the construction and operating requirements of electrical circuits including relay functions. They will use a digital multi meter in conjunction with electrical test kits from Locktronics to build and test a range of electrical circuits. At the start of the course, participants each receive a detailed, full colour set of course notes. By the end of the course, participants will understand electrical theory and the operating principles of electrical circuits. They will have gained the knowledge and confidence required to be able to take accurate test measurements of non complex electrical circuits using a digital multi meter. There is a short end of course multi choice assessment. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates each receive a certificate from AK Training in recognition of their continuing professional development. |
