A two day practical course aimed at those looking to brush up their knowledge and skills. The course covers the followinig main subjects:

• Review of electrical principles
• Digital multi meter functions and

              accessories

• Practical circuit testing techniques
• ISO relays and electronic relays
• Wiring diagrams and workshop

              information systems

• Batteries, charging and starting systems

              diagnostics

• Practical fault finding routines
• Course assessment

The course is aimed at vehicle technicians and those with relevant motor industry background. Experienced technicians would find the course a useful refresher.

During the course, delegates carry out a range of practical tasks on live vehicles using tools and test equipment from Fluke, Pico Technology, Midtronics, CTEK and Autodata CD3 workshop information.

Pre requisites

Those attending this course should have motor industry experience or relevant technical background and prior awareness of electrical theory. Basic PC skills would also be useful.

Course assessment

Course assessment comprises of short multiple answer quetionnaires and a wiring diagram task. After successfully completing the course, delegates will receive a QAA certificate from IMI Awards Ltd in recognition of their achievement.
