About AK Training Courses
Courses from AK Training are based upon extensive technical knowledge and first hand experience of subject matter, current systems and best working practices as well as detailed training needs analysis. When developing courses, the following main points are taken into consideration:
-
Modern vehicle electrical systems have become increasingly 'de-centralised'. This means that often there are two or more power distribution boxes located around the vehicle. These sometimes have additional control over circuits that were previously straight forward such as lights, horns and wipers etc. The increased use of CAN bus allows vast quantities of data to be transmitted around the vehicle using fewer wires.
-
Technicians now need to have greater knowledge and be familiar with a wider range of test equipment and diagnostic procedures. Test lamps, power probes and LED circuit testers are simply no longer adequate for fault finding because accurate test measurements cannot be made and may in fact do damage to sensitive electrical circuits if used incorrectly. Many technicians are put off by the prospect of dealing with an electrical fault because the problem is believed to be more complicated than it actually is.
-
Basic principles still apply and many electrical faults develop as a result of loose or poor connections, or even straight forward component failure. Very often all that a technician requires to pinpoint a fault is a sound understanding of basic principles, the ability to read a wiring diagram and take accurate test measurements with a multi-meter.
AK Training courses aim to address the subject of vehicle electrics and diagnostics in a way that will help individuals to develop and improve their electrical diagnostic skills. The current range of technical courses from AK Training is designed to suit the needs of motor industry personnel at all levels.
