IMI Awards

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has initiated a scheme whereby training organisations can be accredited the status of Approved Assessment Centre by the IMI. Currently, an extensive network of approved assessment centres exist ranging from prestige car manufacturers to independent training providers such as AK Training.

The aim of this scheme is to give enhanced credibility and recognition of training programmes and individual achievements through an assessment and certification process. Those who attend and successfully complete courses run by an Approved Assessment Centre receive a Quality Assured Award (QAA) certificate from the IMI.

Under the QAA scheme, standards of training and assessment are constantly monitored by the IMI. Approved Assessment Centres are visited regularly by an external verifier whose key role is to provide support as well as ensure that standards are maintained within the organisation.
